Food Dump: Camera Roll Clean Out

I’m sure this will be part one of many. I recently cleaned up this site but had no idea where to start. This week I’ll try to get back on a rhythm but for odd weeks (or whenever I’m feeling up for it) I’ll grab random food pictures from my camera roll. There certainly are plenty of them.

BEC w/ Bootleg Bagel

In Yellow Springs, Ohio there is a local man, Bootleg Bagels, who makes fabulous homemade bagels. My favorite is the “Ogre” but the runner up is the classic everything bagel. The top is COATED in seasoning. Not sure when I made this, and it looks like I was in a sharing mood (or I ate the other half already?).

I love cooking bacon my Blackstone, but this looks like it was oven baked. I think I made a giant piece of scrambled egg and went for cream cheese rather than an American slice.

Summer Salad

The background of this Trader Joe’s Green Goddess Dressing apparent advert is a very basic spinach, tomato, avocado, cucumber. I would normally include onion in that salad, but I don’t think there’s any based on the picture?

Again, no idea when I took this but assuming spring or summer. I don’t have a Trader Joe’s by me but there is one easily accessible when I visit family. I do remember using ALL of this dressing. If you’re there, be sure to grab the Tangerine Juice and the tinned smoked tuna!

Variety Soups

On the left is a basic chicken noodle soup but with the addition of turmeric (and potentially saffron?). If you don’t make your own chicken stock, I highly recommend using the “Better Than Bouillon” chicken bouillon. I am not sure when I made this but I’m assuming I diced onions, celery, and carrots and sauteed them until the onions were translucent. Added garlic, cut up rotisserie chicken, and added ditalini pasta. It is most likely seasoned with turmeric, Zehnder’s chicken seasoning, and then either italian seasoning or dill.

On the right appears to be a Pinterest recipe I’ve had saved for a while: Italian Vegetable Soup with Spicy Sausage by The Cozy Apron. I don’t think I included gnocchi, leek, fennel, or parsnip. I think I cubed a potato and included that for our root vegetable. I also believe I boiled some pasta on the side, so it stayed nice and brothy.

Persian Inspired Herb and Beef Stew with Rice

I remember this recipe changed my whole day. This is the most flavorful thing I have made. I think I used lamb, instead of beef.

A warning: if you do not like bold flavors, you may want to avoid. It’s meaty, minty, brothy, and the richest, shallow bowl of stew I have ever had.

The leftovers were even more of a flavor bomb. I do wish I had made less than the recipe recommended, since it was just me eating it. I used the slow cooker method.

Hot Dog

Two hot dogs in a grocery store white bun dressed with ketchup and mustard. Canned green beans with black pepper and salt. Boiled corn on the cob, cut off the cob, with butter, salt, and pepper. Americana. Not sure why I photographed this extremely unique meal.

I have so many other random food photos and I’ll continue the trend of picking the ones off the top that iCloud randomly decides to serve to me. Hope you enjoyed such riveting meals as “bacon egg and cheese” and “hot dog” this week.

As always, let me know what you think or if there’s anything in particular you would like to see.

Love, Maggie
